Lotties clattering After the wing was painted the odd road bump caused quite a clatter from somewhere under the throttle pedal so Manly decided to have a poke about underneath the body and discovered that some kind previous owner had drilled and fitted grease nipples to allow the Knife edges to swim in grease. He also found a leaking offside shock absorber so that was changed in about 30 minutes. A road test was in order and the clatter was still present so Manly was once again prone and peering at Lotties undergear. The wing painter had done a good job refitting the wing but there was very little clearance between the wing and the suspension arm mounting tube. A piece of wood hit with a decent hammer re-profiled and lifted the inner wing by about ¼ inch. Problem solved. Did Manly really need to replace that shock absorber?? At least it prevents the MOT tester having a fit in a few weeks time. Last updated: 03 May 2008 |
