Lottie stops sizzling
Third gear was worst. There was a nasty sizzling sound coming from the gear lever and I tended to drive along with one hand holding it to stop the noise. Problem solved when I found the connector had a broken rubber bush. An E-mail order to ECAS brought the replacement part the very next day along with a bag full of seat rubbers.
I decided to try the cheaper ECAS alternative gear linkage which comes with a nylon/plastic bush. It took 5 minutes to fit and the sizzle has gone. I wonder if the plastic bushes will outlive the rubber ones? Time will tell.....
Hot tip: Is your 2CV still sounding a little noisy? Check all the screws holding the door cards are tight. Mine were all loose and a quick nip-up has made a huge difference reducing rattles and noise levels inside.
